SUSTAINABILITY

Sizing that leaves less behind

Weaving performance and effluent load are usually traded against each other. Our compound range is built so a mill does not have to make that trade.

OUR POSITION

Cleaner desizing is the whole point

PVA sizes well and desizes badly. It survives the wash and the mill pays for it downstream, at the treatment plant rather than at the sizing box.

Our compound grades are built on native maize starch, modified in our own plant. They desize cleanly. The water soluble range desizes in hot water at 80 to 90 degrees, which keeps the weaving performance and takes the load off the effluent.

That is the position. Not a claim about intent, a claim about what comes off the fabric.

MEASURED, NOT ASSERTED

What we test, and what we publish

Figures on this page come from test reports. Where a number is specific to a mill setup, we say so rather than publishing a range.

OECD 301D

Biodegradability measured under the closed bottle test over 28 days, reported per grade.

COD and BOD

Oxygen demand figures from effluent testing, available on request.

Desizing behaviour

How cleanly each grade desizes, and at what water temperature.

Certification

OEKO-TEX Eco Passport, ZDHC Level 3 and GOTS, with certificate numbers.
