Polyester Compound Sizing Agents
Polyester is where PVA is hardest to give up, which is why it is the warp most mills are still sizing with it. This is a complete PVA replacement for 100 percent spun polyester and polyester blends on high-speed looms, supplied as one ready-to-use compound.
WHAT IT IS
Engineered for the polyester warp
Alpenol’s polyester compound textile sizing agents are engineered specifically for polyester fabric and polyester-based spun yarns used in high-speed modern weaving. A single, ready-to-use sizing solution delivers uniform coating and strong yarn protection with no binders, mixers, or polyvinyl alcohol required.
The compound improves warp yarn abrasion resistance, stabilizes the warp beam, reduces breaks during the weaving process, and functions as a complete PVA replacement, enabling efficient weaving with easier desizing, lower effluent load, and consistent greige fabric quality.
WHY MILLS SWITCH
A PVA replacement that holds on polyester
PVA sizes polyester well and desizes badly. It survives the wash, so the mill meets it again at the treatment plant. This does the first job without the second.
Performs like PVA on the loom
Film strength and abrasion resistance built for high reed-pick constructions at 1200+ RPM, on the fibre PVA was hardest to replace on.
Biodegradable where PVA is not
PVA passes through conventional treatment largely intact. A starch-based compound does not.
Easier desizing
Desizes with the regular enzymatic process, so no separate route and no separate chemistry for polyester warps.
Sustainability targets met
Lower COD and higher BOD, with OEKO-TEX, GOTS and ZDHC Level 3 documentation on file.
