Answers written for the person on the shop floor. Where something depends on your own setup, we say so rather than publishing a number that will not hold.
TECHNICAL
What is compound sizing, and how does it differ from a conventional recipe?
One cooked compound replaces the starch, binder and lubricant a mill would otherwise blend on site. Fewer components means fewer variables, so viscosity and film behaviour stay consistent from batch to batch.
How do you decide the right recipe for our warp?
Dosage and recipe depend on your count, fibre, loom type and weave. Our technical team reviews the setup, recommends a starting point, then adjusts it against your own trial results.
What are your sizing agents based on?
The compound range is built on native maize starch, modified in our own plant. Sizaltex LVN is our gum-based grade and is specified per application.
Which grade suits polyester?
The polyester grade is for 100 percent polyester spun yarn. Blends are handled by the general compound grade.
Is there a limit on count for the low-dosage grade?
Yes. Low-dosage sizes up to Ne 60s. Coarser counts use the general compound grade.
How do the water soluble grades desize?
In hot water at 80 to 90 degrees. They desize cleanly, which is what reduces the load on the effluent plant.
COMMERCIAL
Do you supply outside India?
Alpenol supplies mills across 22 markets. Europe is served through Italy, Portugal, Spain and Türkiye, with direct export across Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Can we trial before committing?
Yes. Most mills start with a trial beam. We recommend a starting recipe and adjust from the result.
Do you appoint distributors and agents?
We are expanding the network across new markets. Distributor enquiries go to the same contact form and are routed separately.
COMPLIANCE
Which certifications do you hold?
OEKO-TEX Eco Passport, ZDHC Level 3 and GOTS. Certificate numbers and validity dates are published on the certifications page.
Can we get test data for an audit?
Yes. OECD 301D, COD and BOD reports are issued per grade on request.
Are technical and safety data sheets available?
Technical and safety data sheets are downloadable per grade. Sizaltex LVN is issued on request.
