SOLUTIONS

Two families, one job

Every grade we make exists to keep a loom running. The compound range covers most warps. Sizaltex LVN is the gum-based answer where a different chemistry suits the mill better.

Indigo denim twill, the warp compound sizing runs on

Compound Sizing Agents

Modified maize starch compounds for the majority of warps, from heavy denim to fine shirting counts.

  • Seven grades across eight fabrics, from denim to terry towels
  • Cotton, viscose, blends and 100% polyester spun yarn
  • One product to weigh instead of a blend

Fine count cotton shirting

Low-Dosage Compound Sizing Agents

The same film strength on less chemical. Two grades, cutting pick-up by 15 to 35 percent.

  • Nuovo for 15 to 25 percent lower pick-up
  • EXC-2 for 25 to 35 percent, on high-speed air-jet and rapier
  • Ne 30 to 60, cotton and viscose

Polyester Compound Sizing Agents

Built for the polyester warp, including complex dobby weaves on high-speed looms.

  • Ne 30 and above
  • 100% spun polyester, P/C and other blends
  • A complete PVA replacement

TECHNOLOGY COMPARISON

Compound sizing against a conventional recipe

The difference is not one ingredient. It is how many variables the mill has to control on the day.

COMPOUND SIZINGCONVENTIONAL RECIPE
Components to weighOne cooked productStarch, binder and lubricant, blended on site
Batch to batch variationFixed by the recipe we cookDepends on the mix made that shift
DesizingDesizes cleanly. Water soluble grades desize in hot water at 80 to 90 degreesVaries with the blend, and with any PVA in it
Effluent loadLower, and testable per gradeHigher where PVA is used
Stores and handlingA single item to stockSeveral items, each with its own variation

WHY IT MATTERS

Fewer variables, fewer stops

01

Consistency

The recipe is fixed before it reaches the mill, so the sizing box behaves the same every shift.

02

Simplicity

One product to weigh, store and reorder in place of a blend assembled on the floor.

03

Cleaner downstream

Modified starch desizes cleanly, which keeps the load off the effluent plant.
